Ely, Minn., May 31, 2023 – Twin Metals Minnesota is currently reviewing the Minnesota DNR’s order related to the state’s nonferrous mining rules. Minnesota’s nonferrous mining rules establish some of the most rigorous standards in the world. They were developed over the course of three decades of comprehensive studies and public review. We remain committed to advancing a modern mining project that is protective of the environment and that meets or exceeds all state and federal standards. The need for a domestic supply of responsibly sourced minerals has never been greater. We look forward to continuing our work with DNR and other stakeholders to move forward a project that is safe for workers and the environment, is supportive of the region’s communities, and that serves as a sustainable producer of the raw materials needed in the transition to a clean energy future.
